I think the purpose of a blog is to share valuable information with others. The only criterion I use in deciding what I post is that it was new and interesting to me and I think others might be interested in it as well.
As a physicist by training and inclination, I gravitate toward “geeky” things and fundamental questions about the way the universe is, such as:
- fundamental physics
- astrophysics and cosmology
- the nature of science
- profound and unanswered questions
- amateur (personal) astronomy
- earth and environmental sciences
The world around us is increasingly driven by technology, but not all of it works as advertised nor plays well with others. I want to not just survive, but thrive in our world. One of my interests is finding those personal technology solutions which are both highly effective at what they do, and also simple and robust.
George Polya, a very famous mathematics professor at Stanford used to say, “A method is a trick that works more than once.” Here you will find many “methods” I have found successful.
The web enables an individual to be part of a global community. On the web, there is guaranteed to be someone else interested in some of the same things I am. Maybe you are one of them.
Welcome to my world.
